Why Am I A Speaker?

Why should you pick me to be a speaker/presenter?

In short, I am a first-generation college student who graduated college with Presidential Scholar status and Honors who managed to receive over $15,000 in dozens of  grants and scholarships because of the design work in my portfolio, my community service and leadership experiences, and the quality writing in my personal statements, while completing 10+ internships and 10+ jobs that I managed to gain throughout high school and college. All of these experiences led to being able to land a full-time dream job before even graduating. I have a lot of knowledge I can share with students in similar situations and hopefully better prepare them for their next adventure in life.

How can my experiences can benefit you or your students?

I would not be the accomplished, well-rounded, and passionate young woman I am today if not for the dozens of mentors I have had in my life who have helped me navigate my career and scholarly goals. I have had so many dedicated mentors in my life from my amazing 8th grade art teacher to my TRIO supervisors. I am grateful for these mentors and they have inspired me to give back using what I have learned in life. Hopefully, I too can serve as an inspiration for other students who have faced similar obstacles or are overall in need of assistance as they pursue their professional or personal aspirations.

What can I offer your students?

I love to give presentations and talks in my community (usually to high school or college students within the Pasadena/Los Angeles area) about building resumes, crafting personal statements for college essays and scholarships, searching for jobs, preparing for interviews, the importance of volunteering and getting internships, looking for scholarships, building a graphic design portfolio, balancing work and school, transferring out of community college, using LinkedIn to connect with others, and much more.

You can view my Journal to read some of my helpful advice on the subjects above.

Please fill out the form, if you would like to learn more about me or book me for an upcoming event.

I also review resumes, cover letters, personal statements, and portfolios for high school or college students on my free time at no cost. Simply email me a copy of what you want reviewed and any questions. Best of luck to you!
